Frisby Training Frequently Asked Questions

How do I choose an Instructor / Driving School?
The best way to choose a Driving School or Instructor is to ask friends and family for recommendations. If you can't do this, then 'phone around - how quickly was the call answered? Did you speak to someone who treated you as an individual, or did you just feel like another customer? Did you get the information you needed? Remember, 'biggest' is not necessarily 'best' and never choose based on prices alone.

How much do lessons cost?
Lesson prices can vary depending on where you live and whether you are prepared to pre-pay for a course of 10 or more hours. Please contact us on 01243 779888 for latest prices

What happens on my first lesson?
This will depend on how much (if any) previous experience you have. Your Instructor will introduce him/herself to you and ask to see your Provisional Licence. You will also be asked to demonstrate that you can read a number plate at 20.5 Metres (67 Feet). After this your Instructor will take you to a quiet area where you will be introduced to the major controls of the vehicle and taught the basics of Road Safety. By the end of this first hour you will probably have learned how to move the car away from rest, changed gear and selected safe places to stop.

How many lessons will I need?
There is no minimum number of lessons that are required before taking (and passing!) a Driving Test. Your Driving Instructor will advise you when you are ready for your Test.

How often should I have lessons?
As a minimum you sou should aim for at least one hour per week. Depending on where you live, it may be more practical to have lessons lasting more than one hour. Your Driving Instructor will advise you on this.
